Document Assembly

This view is used to assemble a form or document in the selected word processor.

Selecting a HUD or HUD-1A

Select/enter the desired file number of the HUD or HUD-1A and TAB out of the field. If Document Assembly is activated directly from the HUD or HUD-1A, the file number will be automatically selected.
To search using the function keys:
Place the cursor in the File Number field. Enter the desired data and press F9. The search is started against the first most matched record to your entered criteria. For example, entering the letter “A” in the File Number field and then pressing F9 will bring up the first record beginning with the letter "A". Use F8 to go to the next record and F7 to go to the previous record.

Selecting the Word Processor

The user may select any word processor that is not shaded. Document Assembly will start with the default word processor selected in the Change Default Directories found in the Utilities menu.

The selected word processor will determine the form file type to be displayed in the form selection according to the following table.

Selecting a Form

1. Click the Select Forms Directory button to display the Select Forms Directory file dialog. Select the desired directory and click OK.
The files located in the Forms Directory will be displayed in the Form Grid in alphabetical order.
By clicking on the appropriate button, the user may:

 Select all directory forms
 Remove an individual from
 Rearrange the order of the forms
 Remove the unselected forms
2. Select the desired form or forms by clicking in the checkbox next to each form name.

Please Note:   It is the user's responsibility to insure that the generated Merged File Name will not overwrite an existing file.



The default document name is constructed as follows:
<Word ProcessorName Format
Word PerfectUYMDDCCCFFF.WPD
Word UYMDDCCCFFF.DOC

Where:
  • U - User Initial
  • Y - Last number of year
  • M - Month (1 ..9, O, N, D)
  • DD - Day of Month
  • CCC - First three characters of file number
  • FFF - First eight characters from the form name
The user may change the default generated document name by clicking on the name and making the appropriate changes.

Selecting the Documents Directory

Click the Select Documents Directory button to display the Select Documents Directory dialog. Select the desired directory and click OK.

Starting the Merge

Click in the Print (to Default Printer) and Close checkbox to automatically print the merged documents. Note that the word processor will not be visible when the Print (to Default Printer) and Close checkbox is selected.

Click the Merge button to start the process.
