Display a Printer Frieldly versionConflict of InterestThe Conflict of Interest database allows a Firm to search and determine whether the it has conflict with any Person or Entity desiring representation by that Firm, or whether any Person or Entity against which they are about to bring suit is or has been a Client.
Entering Conflict of Interest Information1. Enter the Name of the Conflict.2. Enter the Relation this Conflict has with this Matter. For a list of available Relations click the Selection List Icon at that field. 3. Enter a valid Client/Matter/Sub Matter number. For a list of available Client/Matter/Sub Matters, click the Selection List button to the left of these fields. 4. Enter the Federal Tax or Social Security Number for this conflict. This field is optional. 5. Enter the Date this conflict was entered in mm/dd/yyyy format. 6. Save the entry by clicking on the Save Button. (TOP) Editing Conflict of Interest Information1. Call up the record by finding or entering the Conflict of Interest name.2. Change the fields to be edited. 3. Press F2 to save your changes or click on the Save Button. (TOP) Searching for Conflict of Interest InformationIt is possible to filter or constrain records while searching Conflict of Interest records. Records may be constrained by Relationship, Name or Social Security number.To constrain records by Relationship 1.Enter the desired Relationship. 2.Click on the Filtered List button to see a list of conflicts filtered by the relation type. To Filter Records by Name 1.Enter the Conflict Name in the Name field and click on the Filtered List button. A list of Persons/Companies who have a conflict with this Conflict Name will be returned. To Search using the Function Keys 1. Placing the cursor in the Name field. Enter the desired name and press F9. Use F8 to go to the next record and F7 to go to the previous.2. The search is started against the first most matched record to your entered criteria. For example, entering "A" in the name field and then pressing F9 will bring up the first record beginning with A. This same method can also be used in the Social Security Field. To Search Using a Selection List 1. Click on the Selection List Button located at the end of the Name field to display the Conflict of Interest Lookup Dialog.2. Do one of the following: a. Click on the desired Name and then click on the OK button. b. Click on the Search button, enter the name and click on OK. Click on OK a second time to select the record. (TOP) Deleting a Conflict of Interest Record1. Find the Conflict of Interest record and, with the cursor in any field, press Shift+F2.(TOP) Conflict of Interest View Fields
